Sullivan Clarke
Undergraduate Computer Science Major
The University of Tennessee Knoxville
Building systems that make a real difference.
I'm an undergraduate CS student passionate about creating technologies and processes that improve our world. Whether it's cybersecurity, software engineering, or machine learning, I love solving challenging problems and shipping real solutions.
Things I've Built
Video Game Finder
A Dockerized multi-layer backend API that allows users to interact with a database of the best selling PlayStation 4 games. The API also handles authorization and privileges via a JWT validation system.
Bayesian Network Financial Notifier
A Bayesian Network trained on financial data and alerts that is able to classify monetary notifications based on priority level. This includes transcations, statements, financial news, investments, security alerts, and more. The network returns summary of the classified data and also has a built-in interactive mode so users can feed it their own financial notifications.
FromToDivisible
A program that solves the TopCoder problem FromToDivisible. Applies graph theory and specifically a breadth first search algorithm to find the shortest path to get from a starting number to a target number, where each step must be divisible by a given divisor.
LeNet Model PGD Attack
This program takes a LeNet model with an adam optimizer, trained on the MNIST dataset and applies a Projected Gradient Descent (PGD) attack to generate adversarial examples. The PGD attack is evaluated every 10000 examples by analyzing the model's accuracy and comparing it to the original model. Specifically, the program iteratively tests how the models preforms when the hyperparameters of the attack, including the epsilon and iterations, are altered and pipes all results to a CSV file for further visualization.
Hangman
A program that implements the classic Hangman game in Java. Features include user input handling, a visual representation of the letters guessed, a tracker for the number of limbs remaining, and error handling for invalid or repeated guesses,
Backend Software Developer Intern
Datably · Chattanooga, TN
As a backend software developer intern at Datably, I onboarded multiple large projects and authored roughly 10 pull requests for
production applications, all of which were merged. I applied newly learned frameworks and technologies to build hosted services, implement
an outbox execution message tracker, and write logic to register client website and databases with an API in order to preform health checks and
backups.
Outside of major implementations, I completed various support tickets including package updates, security fixes, data management,
and code refactoring. I experienced professional project flow, QA, and various development and code review approaches.
By the end of my internship, I had presented my contributions at 3 different reviews.
I was later nominated by Datably for the Chattanooga Technology Council's Emerging Tech Student Award and had the privilege
of being selected as the recipient of the award in September 2025 (See below).
Software Engineering Intern
Transcard · Chattanooga, TN
Starting June 2026, I will be working as a software engineering intern at Transcard and contributing to secure and efficient financial transaction software systems.

Campus & Community
My Leadership Posture
As much as I enjoy nerding out about technology, I am deeply fascinated by leadership and how it drives beneficial change in individuals, teams, and organizations. I believe in a form of leadership that is rooted in not just doing, but in the act of being - possessing a character and posture that makes everyone around you better. Whether through mentoring peers, contributing to initiatives that matter, or day to day interactions, I'm committed to making a positive impact both on my campus and in the wider tech community.
Chattanooga Technology Council Emerging Tech Student Award
Issued by the Chattanooga Technology Council (ChaTech). Recognizes a student, 16 to 24 years old, demonstrating outstanding potential, technical aptitude, and passion in technology, along with a completed project showcasing their skills.
